How to get there

Best time to visit
June to September. The waterfall is strongest with early-summer snowmelt; the access road can be slow in spring mud or early snow.
Mazeri sits in the Becho valley, directly beneath the north face of Mount Ushba — arguably the most dramatic peak in the Caucasus. It's quieter than the trails right around Mestia, and the walk to the Shdugra waterfall takes you straight up the valley toward that wall of rock and ice.
The village itself is small — a scatter of guesthouses and a couple of cafes — which is part of the appeal if you want a break from Mestia's tourist center. Most people visit as a half-day transfer-plus-hike from Mestia rather than staying overnight, though guesthouse beds exist if you'd rather slow down here.
