Private or shared — which should I choose?+
Private (per car) means your own schedule, pickup at your address and stops on the way. Shared (per seat) is cheaper but runs on fixed times and fills up in season. Couples with flexible plans often go shared to Svaneti and private inside it.
How do I pay?+
Most drivers take cash in Georgian lari (GEL). Cards are not always an option in the mountains, so plan to withdraw cash in Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Zugdidi.
Can the driver stop for photos or food?+
On private transfers — yes, short stops are normal and worth it (the Enguri dam viewpoint, for one). On shared transfers stops are limited to keep the schedule.
